Years later the two would reconcile. They would walk down the pier, eating cotton candy and reminiscing about times past. The turkey dinner in question came up in conversation more than once against the setting sun. Pirate confessed that all he really wanted from the frozen dinner box was a chance to prove himself. The box, being made of cardboard, did not reply. As if by fate, a nearby busker started an acoustic rendition of a Rage Against the Machine song and the bitter memories came flooding back. “You were trying to replace my REAL turkey dinner, but you can’t! You just can’t!” Pirate yelled, the salty beach air seasoning his tears as he ran down the wooden pier, tossing the empty box into the wind. The sounds of the carnival drowned out the heartfelt reply: “This box is made up of 50% recycled material.”
